Research Library Now Open

Generations members will focus on family history of the Elk Grove area with the opening of Research Library at the Elk Grove House Hotel and Stage Stop Museum. Our goal is to have the Research Library open the first Saturday of every month, 1-4 pm, to coincide with the open hours of the museum. Space is limited and reservations are required so please call (916)685-8115 or Email: StagestopHotel@aol.com to reserve a date. If you would like to volunteer to help in cataloging, organization, and/or staffing of the new Research Library contact the Historical Society. Getting Started

If you are interested in your family history but unsure just how and where to begin your research, there's one person whose history you already know very well. You! By starting with yourself and working backward in time, you can uncover your family's heritage. Begin with a pedigree chart. Complete the chart with all the information you know about yourself, parents, grandparents, etc. Include as many names, dates, places, and details as you can. When you are done, you'll be surprised at what you already know.

	The goals of Generations, a branch of the Elk Grove Historical Society, are to collect and preserve genealogical and historical information, especially that which pertains to Elk Grove and the surrounding area, and to promote and stimulate interest in genealogy.
