Members of the Elk Grove Historical Society help celebrate the Lee School Reunion at the restored Lee School on Taverner Road in Wilton. The school is now the home of Ted and Sue Horning, hosts for the event.
Red Horning, in red, enjoyed visiting with guests and relating the story of how he and his wife restored the 1889 school.
Former students of the Lee School, which offically closed its doors in 1959, gathered to relate their stories to local historian, Elizabeth Pinkerton.
In addition to the tri-tip, chicken and shrimp provided by the Hornings, guest enjoyed the large array of potluck salads and desserts.
With the success of the Lee School Reunion, the Society plans similar events for the former students of Reese School and Rhoads School so their stories can also be recorded.
