2008 Tea
Our annual spring tea "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" was a huge success. Arriving guests entered through the “rabbit hole” to be greeted by Alice herself as she passed out candy to everyone. They walked down a path lined with white roses in the process of being painted red to be seated by one of our lovely hostesses. Everyone enjoyed our speaker Ted Robinson as he related stories of our 35th president John F. Kennedy, the time they shared together during World War II and the life long friendship that followed. For the first time the venue was changed to our museum grounds at the Elk Grove Heritage Park. Guests spent time before and after the tea viewing the displays in both our museum and jail and strolling the grounds so well maintained by our own Milt Webb. Our tea co-chairmen are already planning next year's event slated for Saturday, May 9, 2009. It will be a retreat into a "Tropical Paradise" and again at our museum.
