Pheasant Print Offering
The pheasant has long been a trademark of the Gibson Wine Company. The late R.H. Gibson, was founder and principal owner of Gibson Wine Company located in Elk Grove, CA. He was a renowned bird fancier and maintained the largest privately owned collection of rare and exotic birds in the United States. In his travels, he found a rare portfolio containing six original drawings by an early-day naturalist and artist. After researching for authenticity by leading ornithologists, the drawings were deemed the highest of quality and detail. Mr. Gibson, then, with the cooperation of H.S. Crocker Company, brought Jean Fabreau a skilled Belgian engraver to America. Mr. Fabreau hand engraved the plates in the 1950's. Beautiful pheasant lithogravure prints were made from them by the H.S. Crocker Company.
The prints have been judged to be of excellence in engraving and lithography.
Each print measures 24" wide by 19" high. Cost of the prints are $125.00 per set or $25.00 each plus shipping & handling.
