Plow To Plate Dinner – 2017 Photos

“Elk Grove has just held its first Farm To Fork event called the Plow To Plate Dinner. It was held on Saturday, September 9th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM in front of and for the Rhoads School Scholarship Fund. The money earned will be used to help less fortunate local 3rd and 4th grade classes afford the costs of attending the Living History Program.”

“The event was conceived by current EG Citizens of the Year Jim and Annaclare Entrican to highlight produce from local farms, ranches, breweries, and winery’s for an evening of delicious food and great camaraderie. They were fortunate to land Executive Chef Danny Origel from the Meadowlands Kitchen & Bar and of Sacramento Farm To Fork fame to manage the event and grill the steak and fish.  It was a perfect evening under a huge tent with subdued lighting. All were full and delighted. Thank you everyone for making it such a great success.”

“The Elk Grove Historical Society with its partners the CSD and the Elk Grove City wish to thank the many organizations and sponsors who donated and helped with the event that made it all possible; The Meadowlands, Lucky Dog Ranch, Davis Ranch, Passmore Ranch Salmon, Flatland Brewing Company, Bogel Vineyards, Ironstone Vineyards, Heirloom Tomatoes donated by Shelly Stepps of Hearld, Amy Erman (EGHS Ag) table flower centerpieces, Rhoads School cleaned by Chris Lombardo of No Moss Soft Wash, Elk Grove Citizen, California Farm Bureau, Native Sons of the Golden West, Burke Family Catering and the many volunteers, family and friends. Know you have all made a difference, not only for the event, but for a whole class of students.”
