TOURS: 1st Saturdays Heritage Park Museum and Jail

The Elk Grove House and Stage Stop museum and grounds are open for FREE tours every first Saturday of the month from 12:00 to 4:00 and the Rhoads School is open from 1:00 to 4:00. Guests are welcome to step back in time and appreciate life in the 1800’s. There are lots of sights to see.

Take a free tour of the Elk Grove Stage Stop and Museum, let the kids play period appropriate games, then stop by and make your own sundae from noon-3pm (or until ice cream runs out!).

Ice Cream in the Park – On the first Saturdays during the summer months May, June, July, and August the museum and school are set up for children’s activities and an ice cream social. The activities are free and the ice cream is only $2 with choices of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry flavors. Various toppings for your sundae will be chocolate, caramel, nuts, Oreo cookie pieces, sprinkles, cherries, and whipped cream and possibly root beer floats. Bring the kids!

FYI – The public is always welcome to tour the museum by appointment. Just call 916-685-8115 to make arrangements.
